Strangely you see the option to provide CIG login only at this icon, and not from software that you can start from the collection of applications accessible from Windows Start. Enter your CIG login details from one of the menu options at the icon.

And here is the step that I missed because I do not see it documented anywhere: from the Windows bar collection of tools at the bottom right, locate the icon for CameraWindow (looks like an open laptop).

You have to do several things to accomplish an automated sync from your camera to your computer and optionally online storage (Facebook/Twitter/Youtube/Flickr/Google Drive) I was able to sort this out after talking to Canon. I am able to transfer all untransferred images to my Windows machine through CameraWindow, but I would like to be able to transfer them directly to the cloud.
